Baltic Viking Axe. Damascus Edge


This custom Baltic Viking Axe is an interpretation of a Baltic and Scandinavian axes of the Viking period. The silver inlays are patterns of old Baltic ornaments. The head of the axe is forgewelded from 200 year old pig iron and has a laminated pattern welded Damascus steel edge. The axe head is forgewelded from 2 different pieces of iron. One that forms the eye of the axe and the second one Is shaping the beard. After that the Damascus steel is laminated into the edge. The handle is made from red elm with reindeer antler inlay. The axe also features a hand embossed vegetable tanned leather sheath.
